I'm super excited to share a project we've been working on!
At shows we get asked about the possibility of putting Squshies on all kinds of things like hats, bags, and t-shirts. These are all things we would love see to Squshies on, but not feasible for us to make ourselves.
Yesterday I posted about all the happenings of 2013, so it only makes sense to look forward at 2014 today.
The holiday season is always full of excitement and craziness, with little time to try new projects. New ideas always seem to roll in when you have the least time for them don't they? Things usually slow down around here at the beginning of the year though, which means it is the perfect time to experiment with fun new things.
I spent a portion of yesterday writing down the ideas, plans, and goals we have for the new year and I thought I'd share some of the exciting things we hope will be happening with the Squshies this year.
We've been busy, busy, busy getting ready for our upcoming show. For the most part it has been researching things. How should we handle receipts? How is the best way to deal with sales tax? What is the best option for packaging?
How can we hook things on to our wire racks? That was one of the projects for today. Our original idea involved S-hooks. They fell off too easy, unless we closed up one side. That was no good because we couldn't move or rearrange anything.
So we've been all over the place about what to do for our display for our booth in November. We want something fun, easy to put together and take apart, not very heavy but also sturdy, reusable, and inexpensive.
We had a couple of really fun ideas, but quickly realized they'd be a lot of work to build, complicated, and really would not meet a whole lot of the criteria I just listed above. We finally found a compromise for our favorite idea that would fit all of our requirements... modular metal storage cubes!
The other day on the Squshies Facebook page I mentioned we've got 2 secret projects in the works. They're both going to be projects that take quite some time to complete but we figured now is as good a time as any to start sharing them.
