I didn't get a Meety Monday set up for this week, so something different for today! A post I wrote in April and never posted.
Back in January I wrote about a blanket I started knitting years ago and how I'm trying to make a dedicated effort to finish it, by knitting a row a day. I don't ever actually knit a row a day. When I do sit down to knit, I usually do quite a few rows. I started my knit a day plan when I reached the 1/4 finished point of the blanket and set days for when I wanted to get to halfway, three quarters, and finished.
A couple weekends ago we had a completely free day. No plans and nothing pressing to get done. It was one of those dreary days where I really don't feel like doing much of anything. Instead of caving in to my lazy grey day tendencies, I thought maybe it would be a good day to start this leaning stuff.
I want to learn something new this year and I've decided it is about time I learned how to confidently use a sewing machine.
I've used a sewing machine a few times, way back in middle school home economics class and once recently with a lot of supervision and help. I'm super intimidated by them terrified of breaking it. This is no good and needs to end! Luckily for me Jason knows how to use the sewing machine and he's going to work on teaching me.
I thought it might be fun so share some of the things I'm working on that aren't Squshies related. I always have too many projects going on. My goal this year is actually to finish some of the projects I've had laying around for months and even years.
I really like knitting and will take any excuse to buy yarn, even though I already have way too much. There's just something about yarn! I love it. Even though I like knitting I'm terrible at finishing anything I start. I've got 1 big knitting project I want to finish and 2 little ones. I have actually have a second big project, but I'm not going to think about finishing it until I finish the first one.
